Ebcedia
Your name is more than a sound; every letter carries a numerical value. Ebcedia brings centuries-old ebced science into a modern experience.
An app that connects my name to my current life really well, with genuinely logical analyses.
A refreshingly different app — I really liked it.
Ebcedia is an iPhone app by independent iOS developer Mehmet Şişoğlu. It is available in Turkish, English, Arabic, German, French and Indonesian.
Ebced (also known as Abjad numerology) is a letter-number system used across the Islamic world for centuries, assigning a numerical value to each letter of the Arabic alphabet. It takes its name from “ebced,” one of the first groupings in the traditional letter order. Historically used for chronograms, poetry, and calligraphy throughout Ottoman and Islamic history. Ebcedia brings this ancient tradition into a modern name-analysis experience.
In the traditional system, letters are grouped into eight sets — Ebced, Hevvez, Hutti, Kelemen, Sa'fes, Qarashat, Sakhaz, Dazigh — each representing a numerical range from 1 to 1000. A name's ebced value is the sum of the numerical equivalents of each of its letters. Ebcedia calculates this instantly as you type.
This total serves as the starting point for a deeper interpretation within the app (letter-meaning associations, numerical patterns).
Ebcedia is built for anyone curious about the ancient numerical tradition behind their name — a way to explore a cultural and historical heritage, and see your name from a different angle. Important: Ebcedia is not a fortune-telling app. Its interpretations are symbolic and traditional, not medical, legal, or financial advice.
